Mari discovered Pilates while she was looking for an activity to give her energy level a jump-start following years of sedentary lifestyle in her busy corporate life; that involved many hours of sitting through meetings or at her desk. This results in frequent neck, shoulder and back aches. Various therapies and exercises she’s tried provided limited relieve.

Through Pilates, her condition improved by focusing on alignment, strengthening her core; and she began noticing how it shaped her body while staying pain free. Even today, she continually found herself connected to all aspects of Pilates to get stronger.

Having experienced first hand the many benefits of Pilates, she decided to pursue instructor certification with STOTT PILATES® to better understand Pilates and soon found herself embarking on a new career. She loves that it is a job where one keeps learning and growing. She believes Pilates is restorative yet challenging – a harmony of big and small muscles working together through stretching, strengthening and realigning our bodies.
