Colleen loves the challenge and endorphin rush so she picked up HIIT group classes, but with high intensity and minimal guidance, she picked up injuries along the way. Eventually, a shoulder injury forced her to stop and reassess the way she was training. During her recovery, Colleen discovered Pilates. She was drawn to how Pilates is able to build strength, mobility, and control without the pressure to “go harder” at any cost.
In the years that followed, regular Pilates practice played a central role in her postpartum journey. It helped her gradually regain strength and stability, and supported her in rebuilding her overall form through pregnancy and birth. Pilates also helped her feel more grounded, more confident, more aware, and more in tune with what she needed day to day.
These personal experiences inspired Colleen to become a STOTT PILATES® instructor. She hopes to pass on the same benefits Pilates has given her — resilience, confidence, and a deeper, more respectful relationship with movement and self-care.
